Terms of Service

The deal between you and devmodules, in as few words as a lawyer would let us get away with. The short version: learn as much as you like, your code stays yours, our materials stay ours, and don't be the person who ruins it for everyone.

Effective: 6 August 2026Version 1.0

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the devmodules website, curriculum, workshops, and related services (together, the "Services"), operated by devmodules ("we", "us"). By browsing this site or creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, the only thing to do is not use the Services — we'd rather you read them and stay.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to enroll. You agree to give us accurate account information, keep your credentials to yourself, and tell us promptly at info@devmodules.fuller.edu if you suspect your account has been used without your permission. One account per person; accounts are personal and not transferable.

3. The free part, and the paid part

Enrollment, the full curriculum, and all workshops are free of charge. Optional human services — one-on-one mentorship and additional engineer code reviews — are paid, with prices, scope, and refund terms stated at the point of purchase. We may change what is offered, but we will not retroactively put a paywall in front of curriculum parts you have already started.

4. Our content — All Rights Reserved

The Services and everything we made for them — lessons, exercises, exercise solutions, videos, essays, workshop materials, the devmodules name and logo, page designs, and commissioned artwork — are the property of devmodules and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. All rights are reserved.

We grant enrolled learners a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use these materials for their own learning. That license does not permit you to:

  • republish, redistribute, resell, or sublicense the materials, in whole or substantial part;
  • use them to run your own course, bootcamp, or paid tutoring product;
  • scrape the Services or use the materials as training data for machine-learning systems without our written permission;
  • remove or obscure copyright notices.

Quoting brief excerpts with attribution — in a blog post about your learning, a talk, a review — is fine and encouraged. Third-party resources we link to (documentation, books, talks, reports) belong to their respective owners under their own licenses; our Contribution page credits them individually.

5. Your content — yours

Code, projects, and text you submit through the Services remain your property. You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your submissions for the purposes of operating the school — running automated checks, enabling mentor and peer review, and showing you your own progress. If you agree to have a capstone featured as an example for other learners, we'll ask you explicitly first, credit you, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • break the law, infringe others' rights, or distribute malware;
  • harass, threaten, or demean mentors, staff, or fellow learners — reviews here are direct, never cruel, and we hold everyone to that including ourselves;
  • submit others' work as your own (mentor time is a gift; wasting it on plagiarized code takes it from someone else);
  • probe, overload, or interfere with the operation or security of the Services;
  • share your account so multiple people can consume paid review capacity through it.

7. Reviews and mentorship are advice, not guarantees

Code reviews, mentorship, and curriculum content reflect professional judgment and industry practice at the time given. They are educational services, not professional advice for your specific business, and completing the curriculum — like any education — does not guarantee employment or any particular outcome.

8. Availability, changes, termination

We work to keep the Services available but do not promise uninterrupted operation. We may update, add, or retire content and features. You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these Terms, and where practical we will warn you first. Sections 4, 5, 9, 10, and 11 survive termination.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, devmodules will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for paid services in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) MYR 100.

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, though we'd genuinely prefer you email us first — most disagreements are fixed in one reply.

12. Changes to these Terms

When we change these Terms, the version and effective date above change, and enrolled learners receive an email summary at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continuing to use the Services after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms: info@devmodules.fuller.edu, or the contact page.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect, and the unenforceable provision is replaced by an enforceable one that best matches its intent.
